What is Shutl?

Shutl brings delivery up to speed by letting shoppers get what they want, when they want it.

Shutl lets shoppers choose to receive purchases within as little as 90 minutes (“Shutl Now”) or within a 1 hour delivery window of their choice (‘Shutl Later”).  We deliver 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.*

We are currently trialling our service across London.  But don’t worry If you’re not in London, we aim to offer nationwide service very soon!

How did it start?

Tom Allason began looking for a way to combine shopping and immediate delivery at his previous startup - eCourier.co.uk.  The problem is that on the whole same-day courier companies (like eCourier) are regional rather than national and individually could not have the capacity to deal with the peaks and troughs of retail demand.  If a national retailer wanted to offer a same-day service they would have to contract with and manage lots of different companies, or only offer a limited service.  Tom felt that the solution was to combine the capacities of multiple courier companies, transform the courier market and in doing so solve e-Commerce’s greatest and longest standing problem… delivery.  And Shutl was born…

What delivery problem?

Shopping online has come light years in the last 15 years.  Today’s consumer can find, evaluate and purchase an item in seconds however we are still stuck waiting days for delivery.  To make matters worse, on delivery day we are told to be at home from 9am to 6pm to sign for the package.  If  for whatever reason delivery fails we must then arrange re-delivery –  and if that fails we must then collect ourselves from a remote delivery depot.  It is a wonder that consumers have put up with this for so long! Don’t fret Shutl is going to make things right…
